DARIAH Annual Event 2026 | Digital Arts and Humanities With and For Society: Building Infrastructures of Engagement

Tomorrow, 29th May, Deborah De Angelis will participate as a speaker in the panel “How to reinforce collaboration among Wikimedia, GLAMs and Research” together with Iolanda Pensa, Elena Marangoni, Camillo Carlo Pellizzari di San Girolamo, Anna Maria Marras, Christos Varvantakis and Astrid D’Eredità, within the framework of the DARIAH Annual Event 2026.

The DARIAH Annual Event brings together researchers and the wider cultural heritage, arts and humanities, as well as computer, information and data science communities. This year’s edition, titled “Digital Arts and Humanities With and For Society: Building Infrastructures of Engagement”, focuses on how digital, social and institutional infrastructures can support engaged research, and nurture generosity, participation and shared creativity in the digital arts and humanities

The panel will explore current and future collaborations between Wikimedia projects, GLAM institutions (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums), and the research community. Discussions will address open access, participatory humanities, Wikimedia and open infrastructures, highlighting both opportunities and challenges in building stronger cooperation among cultural institutions, academia and online open communities.

The session will take place on Friday, 29 May 2026, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM in Aula A, at the Università degli Studi Roma Tre – Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici, Via Ostiense 234, Rome.
